With brother Emile away touring in Europe, it would seem odd to call it The Martyn Brothers band. So, younger brother Ben Martyn leads this band along with a fantastic line up of musicians who often play together but not always in this exact line up. Ben spent his teenage years living in New Orleans learning first hand watching the legends of the music. He still returns there every year to play and to visit friends and family. His father - drummer, Barry Martyn, has lived there for over 40 years. Ben also runs The Fallen Heroes with his brother Emile which plays many of his original songs in the styles of New Orleans Rhythm & Blues through to Jazz and Rock & Roll. So, expect a little of all things New Orleans, not just straight out jazz. He appears at Steyning with a mixture of many old style New Orleans jazz with a sprinkling of Rhythm & Blues and rock & Roll too.

Tony Rico, who also plays with Ben in The Fallen Heroes, will be on sax.
Alan Grestie on trumpet
Richard Simmonds on piano
Dom Coles on Drums (Dom’s father, banjoist John Coles, played with Barry Martyn through the 60’s)
Ben Martyn on bass and vocals.
